Two workplace rules
- Space per person. HSE guidance asks for at least 11 m³ of room per person working in it. With a ceiling of about 2.5 m, the unit gives room for about 12 people working at the same time. Visiting clients do not count. Both layouts fit, with room for two or three more staff.
- Toilets. The same guidance asks for 2 toilets when 6 to 25 people are at work. The unit has one, so a second WC, or use of the landlord's shared facilities, may be needed.
From the HSE code of practice for the Workplace Regulations (L24). Please confirm with your landlord or a health and safety adviser. The route from the back of the office to the street door is at least 75 cm wide everywhere. The internal door is drawn about 182 cm (6 ft) from the south wall of the main office, as measured. We will confirm it on site.
